Board a 4x4 vehicle for a great adventure deep into the unspoiled interior of Tahiti. Let the adventure begin!
A scenic drive along the east coast of Tahiti turns inland at the mouth of Papenoo River into the famous Papenoo Valley. On the ascent, you’re following the largest valley on the island, and the view of the surrounding mountainsides carved by centuries of erosion and covered with rich, thick, multi-green rainforest is quite awesome in the true sense of the word.
The adventurous route crosses rivers and includes photo stops at numerous waterfalls. You will also visit an archaeological site to view sacred temple remains from yesteryear, well before the arrival of Western missionaries.
Take a swim in one of the natural river pools (water levels permitting) before retracing your path down the valley.
Notes:
Ride will be bumpy; guests who are pregnant and those with a back or neck condition are not allowed to participate. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. There are no changing facilities at the forest pool. Bring insect repellent.
