Set sail on a maxi-catamaran and head down the west coast of Tahiti. The boat offers plenty of shaded seating under the canopy. Sun seekers can relax on the two large nets located in the bow. Feel the seaspray on your face as the boat slices along the barrier reef. Watch for spinner dolphins, frequently seen in the area. On the south shore of Taapuna Passage, keep an eye out for local and international surfers hanging ten and catching waves.
The crew will drop the anchor in clear waters inside the lagoon, with plenty of time to enjoy a swim and snorkel. Gear is provided. Access to the water is by way of a large, easy stepladder.
Towel off afterward and settle in on the catamaran’s deck or nets. Kick back, unwind and enjoy a refreshment as you sail through turquoise waters on the way home.
Notes:
Participants must know how to swim and be comfortable wearing snorkeling equipment, being in deep water and coping with occasional currents. Depth of water is not guaranteed due to currents and sea level variation. Do not touch or step on the coral or touch marine animals. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Sailing on board a boat requires vigilance; participants must be physically and mentally alert to the boating environment and fit enough to negotiate steps and the vessel layout. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Mask and snorkel provided.
