Get ready for one of the most awe-inspiring experiences Hawaii has to offer! Step aboard a 50-foot catamaran and watch the lights of Kona fade into the distance as you cruise along the glowing coastline. Your destination? The world-famous Manta Ray Village, where an extraordinary underwater encounter awaits.
As night falls, the crew sets the stage by placing illuminated floatation devices in the water—drawing in the majestic manta rays. After a quick safety briefing, you’ll gear up and slip into the ocean for a front-row seat to nature’s most graceful performance. These gentle giants glide and twirl just inches away, performing mesmerizing barrel rolls that sometimes bring them close enough to touch. In Hawaiian culture, being touched by a manta ray is considered a sign of good luck—an unforgettable moment you’ll treasure forever.
Pro tip: Bring your GoPro or underwater camera—you’ll want to relive this magical night again and again.
Once back on board, it can get chilly. We suggest bringing a change of clothes. You may also warm up with hot cocoa, tea, and fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. Savor delicious pupus (Hawaiian hors d'oeuvres) featuring both savory bites and sweet treats. Then, unwind under the stars with a handcrafted cocktail or a glass of wine from the open bar.
Notes:
Before embarking on the Manta tour, all guests will need to fill out and sign a liability waiver. Guests that do not complete the form will not be able to participate. Tour requires some walking. Terrain includes paved and unpaved surfaces, crosswalks, steps and a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be steep at low tide. On the boat, there is a large step over the transom and another to access the bow of the boat. The grand staircase has five steps, and the ladder to enter the water has five rungs. Participants must climb ladder-steps down to access the restrooms. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Snorkel gear, wetsuit-style t-shirts, and pool noodles are provided. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Bring a light jacket or sweater. Children aged 4 and under and guests with a BMI higher than 37 are not allowed in the water. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
