Immerse yourself in a full-day of island culture and adventure with a visit to the award-winning Polynesian Cultural Center. Begin your cultural adventure at the pier where you will board an air-conditioned motorcoach. Then sit back and take in the wonders of this lush tropical island paradise on a drive along Oahu’s windward coast.
Your final destination is the Polynesian Cultural Center, named the visitor’s favorite by the People’s Choice Awards. Located near the village of Laie and founded by Mormon missionaries in 1864, the center preserves the cultures and customs of old Polynesia, from Hawaii to Tonga and Samoa.
Upon your arrival to the 42-acre center, Polynesian villagers (students from nearby Laie campus of the Brigham Young University) will greet you. As you stroll the center, you’ll find six different authentic island settings with dozens of fun-filled and informative demonstrations such as Tongan drumming, coconut tree climbing and traditional dances of Fiji, Hawaii, Aotearoa, Samoa, Tahiti and Tonga.
Then prepare to indulge in an authentic Polynesian meal featuring Kalua Pork, Crispy Garlic Shrimp, Panko crusted Catch of the day, and much more. Feast like royalty in the expansive dining hall that features a larger than life 360° mural.
As the sun goes down and your meal comes to an end, join the Center’s other guests for the Evening Spectacular Night Show Ha: Breath of Life. With a cast of over 100 performers, this is the largest Polynesian revue of song and dance in the world. Dressed in native attire, performers from all corners of the Pacific share their history, traditions and spirit in the same way their ancestors did. Fire knife champions and firewalkers add dramatic flair to an amazing, educational and absolutely unforgettable day of culture and adventure!
