No trip to Polynesia is complete without sailing Moorea’s shoreline beauty as Wallis and Cook did when exploring the South Pacific.
Set sail on a maxi-catamaran, offering plenty of shaded seating under the canopy, while sun seekers can relax on the two large nets located in the bow. Thanks to its short draft, you will be amazed where your maxi catamaran can take you -- shallow lagoon waters and close-up views of the shore are the norm.
Feel the sea breeze as you discover the lush and appealing scenery of Moorea. Cross the reef through the passage and see an amazing mix of blue and green water, overwater bungalows and local houses -- the stuff of gorgeous photos.
At a swim stop, a mask and snorkel are provided. Access to the water is made by way of a large, easy stepladder that makes getting into and out of the water a snap. This sandy area boasts tiki-carved stones, which are worth a visit.
Back on board, settle on the catamaran decks or nets, and relax with refreshments while you sail your way home through the bay of ‘the Lizard Isle.’ Keep your eyes peeled for spinner dolphins -- an added bonus if you spot one.
Notes:
Participants must know how to swim and be comfortable wearing snorkeling equipment, being in deep water and coping with occasional currents. Depth of water is not guaranteed due to currents and sea level variation. Sailing on board a boat requires vigilance; participants must be physically and mentally alert to the boating environment and fit enough to negotiate steps and the vessel layout. Access to the restroom is available via a straight ladder. You must remove your shoes upon boarding the catamaran. The boat may be wet; personal belongings and devices should be stored with caution. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Mask and snorkel provided. Do not touch or step on the coral or touch marine animals. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Please realistically assess your own ability prior to taking part in this water activity. Expensive clothing or jewelry should not be worn on tour.
