After a short transfer from the pier, embark a 4x4 vehicle for A Sandwich Harbor dune adventure. Giant sand dunes run straight into the ocean, creating breathtaking scenery and an off-road driving experience. Beautiful lookouts showcase the remoteness for which Namibia and the Skeleton Coast are so famous.
Drive to Sandwich Harbor Lagoon, a large natural tidal lagoon surrounded by sand dunes and accessible only by 4x4. If tidal conditions allow, you'll take an exciting dune ride to a lookout point for an aerial view of the lagoon.
Stop along the way to enjoy a light lunch and refreshments among the dunes.
Heading to a local jetty, you will board a boat for a 2½ hour cruise on the Walvis Bay Lagoon. Watch for the schools of bottlenose and Heaviside dolphins that love to swim alongside the boats. When you reach Pelican Point and the large cape seal colony, be entertained by these comical creatures diving in the water, swimming up to the boat and sunning on the sand.
Bird lovers will thrill to watching for flamingos (seasonal), pelicans and cormorants, white-chinned petrels, Wilson's storm petrels, cape gannets, and black oystercatchers.
After an exciting day on the sand and sea, return to the pier.
