This water excursion by RIB (rigid inflatable boat) starts with a ride through the calm waters around Haugesund amid beautiful scenery and landmarks.
The RIB takes you past the charming islands of Føynå and Røvær. Dating back to the Vikings, Røvær was a popular fishing spot. The island was home to nearly 20,000 inhabitants when the herring industry reached its peak in the 19th century. Today, the island has approximately 110 inhabitants.
Keep watch for marine wildlife and for sea eagles soaring above you.
Out in the open ocean, the skipper fires up the engines for a fast and furious ride on the North Atlantic waves. Feel the wind in your hair and the salty ocean spray on your face as you pass the city islands to see where the fjord opens out to the sea.
Notes:
Minimum age is 8 years. Flotation suits are provided. Guests who are pregnant or have a back or neck condition are not allowed to participate. Dress warmly in layers with a wind- and waterproof outer layer; bring gloves, a scarf and a warm hat.
