Head off the beaten track in a 4x4 vehicle to experience Rio's flora and fauna. With just ten guests per vehicle, this is your chance to view up close the Tijuca Forest -- home to hundreds of species of plant and wildlife found only in the Atlantic rain forest. Many of the forest's endemic species are close to extinction.
Covering an impressive 7,900 acres, Tijuca National Park is the world's largest urban forest. Keep an eye out for an enormous variety of birds and butterflies, as well as various species of sloth and monkey.
You'll visit the Chinese Lookout to take in panoramic views of Corcovado and Sugar Loaf mountains, Ipanema and Leblon Beaches, and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
Stop at Taunay Falls for photos before returning to the pier past a long stretch of beautiful beaches.
Notes:
This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Rio de Janeiro. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Ride will be bumpy; not suitable for guests with back or neck conditions, or for pregnant women. The Chinese lookout is closed on weekends and holidays.
