Meet your guide at Durban Harbour for a scenic drive up the coast to Ballito.
Thompson Bay Beach, also known as "the hole in the wall," is tucked between Ballito and Shaka's Rock and ranks among the most beautiful beaches in Ballito. If the tide allows, you'll pause here for a short stroll.
Your destination is Monkeyland -- a multi-species primate sanctuary whose mission is to foster greater understanding of primates. The focus is to educate humans about the threats and challenges they are facing in today's world.
Enjoy a drive by safari vehicle, which will transfer you to the forest. From there, a walk through the forest reveals many natural wonders. The primates roam freely here, so you will see many species, including capuchin monkeys, ringtail and black- and white-ruffed lemurs, buff-cheeked gibbons, squirrel monkeys and black howler monkeys in their forest home.
Note:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Monkeyland has a strict no-touch policy. Tour sequence may vary.
