Depart the pier for a panoramic sightseeing tour of this vibrant city. Follow Durban's palm tree-lined Victoria Embankment to the Golden Mile (the beachfront), where Zulus dressed in colorful regalia transport visitors in rickshaws.
Watch for the Juma Mosque, reputedly the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, famous for its massive golden dome and turrets. Continue past the Old Market Square, Durban's municipal offices, the Natural History Museum and the Post Office before reaching the Old Inland Revenue Building and the Reserve Bank.
Stop briefly at Currie Hill to take in the panoramic views of the city.
Drive north up the coast to Balito, a small holiday town that was originally a sugar cane farm. From here, drive to Umhlanga Rocks. Situated on the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, Umhlanga is an affluent resort town with golden sandy beaches that stretch northwards for more than 120 miles. Enjoy High Tea at one of Umhlanga's luxury hotels before returning to the pier.
