Travel to Stellenbosch, founded in 1680 and set in a broad, fertile valley of the Eerste River. Today, Stellenbosch is a major university town characterized by Cape Dutch-style architecture. Its streets are lined with oak trees, some of which have been declared living National Monuments.
Enjoy an orientation drive through Stellenbosch with an hour at leisure to explore the town on your own. Cafes, boutiques and art galleries line the main street. Your guide can offer advice if you are looking for something special or simply want to purchase a cup of coffee or an ice cream.
After your free time in Stellenbosch, reboard your transportation for a short drive to one of the area's famous wine estates. Enjoy a wine tasting and time to wander about the picturesque estate to take photos.
Return to the pier along the N2 highway.
Notes:
Terrain includes steps at the wine estate. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Cape Town. Corkage policy: Wine purchased on this tour is exempt from the onboard corkage fee (offer limited to one bottle of wine per person). Tour does not operate on Fridays or Sundays.
