Tivoli Gardens History

Founded by Danish entrepreneur Georg Carstensen, Tivoli Gardens opened its gates for the first time on August 15, 1843, wowing guests with its elegant and exotic gardens. The park featured a theatre, band stands, restaurants, cafes, mechanical rides, and a scenic railway. This magical park has inspired many people: Hans Christian Andersen took the idea for his fairytale The Nightingale from Tivoli, and Walt Disney drew inspiration for Disneyland during several visits to the park in the 1950s. 

Since its opening, Tivoli Gardens has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a variety of rides, attractions, and entertainment. Over the years, the park has expanded and undergone several renovations, including the addition of new rides and the introduction of modern technology.
