Heading out of Ringaskiddy, travel east to the village of Midleton -- the town from which the famous rare Irish whiskey gets its name.
You will visit the Old Jameson Distillery, an experience that will take you right to the heart of the cherished whiskey-making tradition. Enjoy a guided tour of this beautifully restored 18th-century self-contained industrial complex. Check out the fully operational water wheel and the copper still with a capacity of 32,000 gallons -- the largest in the world. Then, see the Irish whiskey legend come alive with a brief audiovisual presentation. A few lucky volunteers get to taste and comment on the finished product.
After the history lesson will be the opportunity for a tasting for everyone. Relax in the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub and sample Ireland's finest whiskey. You'll have some free time to explore the craft shop, restaurant or coffee shop at the Jameson Heritage Centre before reboarding the coach and returning to the ship.
