After a short port bus drive from the ship to the Venice Maritime Station, board a panoramic sightseeing cruise by motor launch to glide along the broad Giudecca Canal to St George's Island.
From there, you will proceed across the southern lagoon coasting past the beautiful island of San Servolo and San Lazzaro, famous for its ancient Armenian monastery.
Your ride will continue along part of the Lido -- a long strip of land dividing the Venetian Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. You will enter the canal that separates two islands which are very important to the people of Venice -- le Vignole, a favorite place for leisurely Sunday picnics, and Sant'Erasmo, where fruit and vegetables are grown for the tables of Venice. See the small island of Murano, renowned for its beautiful glass manufacturing.
Cruising back towards Venice, watch for the Arsenale -- a vast walled dockyard in eastern Venice, once the most efficient industrial complex in Europe during the days of the Serenissima Republic. Your panoramic tour will also pass the ancient church of San Pietro of Castello -- the city's main cathedral until the beginning of the 19th century.
The tour ends at the Venice Maritime Station, from here, take a port bus transfer back to the ship.
