This excursion starts in Nordfjordeid -- a charming, picturesque village at the head of the Nordfjord. You'll pass Hornidal Lake and drive through Stryn -- the region's administrative center of the area.
Follow the Stryn River, a well-known salmon-spawning habitat, up to Stryn Lake with its crystal-clear, turquoise-colored water. Here, you'll find the Jostedal Glacier National Park Visitor Center. Watch a nature film about the area and check out the interesting exhibits on the surprising ecology both above and beneath the glacier.
Step outside to tour the garden.
Before leaving, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a svele (Norwegian pancake).
You'll take the same road via Stryn and Hornidal Lake back to Nordfjordeid and the ship.
