A panoramic drive introduces you to Kalundborg — one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Denmark. Pause to take photos of the former Kaalund Kloster monastery. Built in 1752, it stands atop of the remains of an older monastery founded around 1239.
Continue to the five-towered Church of Our Lady, built around 1220. It lies in the Højby Old Town district, which is packed with houses up to 500 years old.
Continue outside of Kalundborg to Dyrehøj Vineyard — a local vineyard cultivating wine grapes for 20% of Denmark's wine production. Stretch your legs here with a walk to a viewpoint overlooking Kalundborg Fjord. Visit the vineyard's art gallery and wine bar, where you can taste various wines or purchase snacks (at your own expense).
Complete your outing with a brief stop at Lerchenborg Manor — a three-winged Rococo complex. Together with the farm buildings and a park, they form a symmetrical unity associated with the Baroque movement.
Notes:
Purchases and tastings at Dyrehøj Vineyard are not included in the cost of the tour and are at guests own expense.
