Upon leaving the harbor, you will drive through the lush countryside, admiring the beautiful landscape of Ibiza. Your National Geographic-trained guide will explain about how herbs and honey have been used on the island for hundreds of years.
An herbalist will join you for a walk through the woods, where you will learn about the different herbs growing on Ibiza and how they are used in daily life. During your walk, you will have a chance to pick, smell and taste a wide variety of the herbs found on the island.
Enjoy an exclusive visit to an organic farm, where National Geographic travelers will be welcomed by the farm's owner and beekeeper. After learning about the life and behavior of the farm's honeybees, don a protective beekeeping suit. Once the smoker is used, approach the beehives, and continue to learn about the importance of these fascinating winged insects in our ecosystem, and why and how we should protect them.
Relax and enjoy a variety of honey, each produced in different seasons, to learn about the nuances of their flavors. Accompanying the honey will be an array of local cheeses, almonds and honey liqueur -- all local products from the island.
