A short bus ride from the new port brings you to the Castle of Bodrum. The magnificent sun-bleached stone used to build the castle was plundered from the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. The Knight of Rhodes tore down this magnificent tomb that was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
You will also visit the Sunken Boat Museum, whose artifacts were found underwater and date from the Bronze Age through the Middle Ages. Remnants of cargo from a 13th-century BC Syrian trade ship are on display.
You’ll also visit the Carian Princess section to see a beautiful gold tiara. From the museum, it’s just a short drive to the Myndos Gate where Alexander the Great entered the ancient city of Halicarnassus in 334 BC.
Refreshments will be served at one of the finest local hotels as you take in the spectacular view of Bodrum Bay.
