Begin with a brief introduction to Sydney in the form of a panoramic drive through the historic North End.
Travel along the Trans-Canada Highway on the picturesque route between Sydney and Baddeck, which offers views of Boulanderie Island, the Seal Island Bridge, the Great Bras d'Or Channel, Kelly's Mountain, and St Ann's Bay. The village of Baddeck is situated on the shores of the beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes in the heart of Cape Breton Island. A diversity of restaurants, attractions and activities makes this one of Canada's most popular resort communities.
You will board a boat to experience the beautiful UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Bras d'Or Lake. The skipper and crew will provide an educational and entertaining narrative. Learn about the history of Baddeck, including Alexander Graham Bell's summer mansion and Beinn Breagh property. Enjoy a cup of tea with an oatcake.
Back on land, enjoy some free time in Baddeck to visit the many gift shops, galleries, and restaurants or the Bras d'Or Lakes & Watershed Interpretive Centre (all at your own expense) before heading back to the pier.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
