The history of Québec comes alive as you walk the charming cobblestone streets of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Old Town, best explored on foot. You will discover nearly four centuries of history in the only walled city north of Mexico.
The stone buildings of Place-Royale were once the homes of wealthy merchants. See North America’s oldest standing catholic church -- the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires. And in the charming pedestrian-only area of Petit-Champlain, an array of quaint boutiques, specialty shops, and outdoor cafés beckon.
Take a short funicular ride to reach the Château Frontenac, perched on a hill overlooking the St Lawrence River and the best-known landmark in Québec. From Dufferin Terrace, take in the spectacular view of the St-Lawrence River and the Laurentian Mountains.
Explore the fortress area, passing Place d’Armes, the Québec Seminary, the Ursuline Convent, Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, and Artists Alley.
Relax at the Château Frontenac over an English-style High Tea service with scones, sandwiches, and pastries made by the chef.
Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
