Prince Edeward Island, the Fair Isle, is home to beautiful beaches and lighthouses and to dozens of fearless culinary artisans and winemakers who are creating an emerging mecca for foodies. Your journey through the heart of the island is your chance to meet the growers and providers of seafood, wine and liqueur.
A panoramic drive brings you to a goat farm, where you'll be treated to delicious samples of locally-produced goat products. Meet the producers -- they're in the barn or outside eating grass!
It's then on to a lavender farm. Honey from the resident bees is turned into a delightful mead wine. Enjoy some memorable flavors that you won't taste anywhere else.
Your next stop is a treat for seafood lovers. You will be treated to an oyster-shucking demonstration and sample PEI's freshly shucked oysters with a small cup of seafood chowder.
See some of the island's most breathtaking views as you drive through rolling farmland. At your final stop, an organic apple farm and distillery, learn about the spirits and liqueurs that are made with fruit from the surrounding land.
