All aboard for a truly memorable journey and some breathtaking scenery on the Conway Scenic Railroad.
Your journey begins with a scenic 90-minute drive to North Conway, New Hampshire. Take in the town's New England charm with its quaint shops, cafés, and friendly inhabitants. You'll have free time to enjoy the town on your own.
Here, board a comfortable, vintage 1950s passenger train car fully restored to reflect its old-fashioned charm. You'll pass mountain ranges, rivers, and historical bridges and trestles and climb an impressive 1,886 feet (575m) to Crawford Notch Station (1891). Hop off here to appreciate the surrounding panorama.
Your motorcoach awaits you for the drive back to the pier in Portland. The picturesque landscapes of the Mount Washington Valley are your companion.
Notes:
Minimum age is 5 years. Participants must be able to climb steps to (dis)embark the coach and train with limited assistance. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Restrooms are available at Conway Station, Crawford Notch Station and on the train. A meal is included; there is a cash-only snack bar on the train.
