A short walk (approximately a quarter mile) through Town Point Park brings you to the Waterside Pier. Step aboard the three-masted top sail schooner American Rover. Outfitted with eye-catching red sails, the ship features ample comfortable seating on a shaded top deck and climate-controlled below-deck lounges with restrooms and a ship's store and bar. This is a fun way to spend time on the water, getting acquainted with Norfolk Harbor from the viewpoint of the Elizabeth River.
Your skipper points out the highlights of the harbor, downtown Norfolk and the Portsmouth skyline, the Battleship Wisconsin, and private shipyards. Watch for Navy ships, tugboats, mega-yachts, and the occasional dolphin. Relax and enjoy the tranquility of sailing.
