Head to the Averill Creek Vineyard, set on the slopes of Mount Prevost, to taste it firsthand. Tour the gravity-flow winery built into the mountainside, and walk vineyard rows rooted in glacial soils and rimmed by old-growth forest. In the winery, settle in for a hosted tasting of estate wines — crisp sparkling wine, aromatic whites, and the cool-climate Pinot Noir that originally put the Cowichan Valley on the map.
