Experience the famed carriage roads of Acadia by crisscrossing some of the most scenic areas of the park. The trails were constructed by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. beginning in 1913; they have been recently refurbished and are in excellent condition, still closed to all motorized traffic.
Gear up with a 27-speed bike designed specifically for the hard-packed gravel you'll find on the carriage roads.
Your professional guide will stop often to tell you about the island's history and lore. Anyone in good physical condition can take part in this tour.
