See the city sights on this full-day, moderately-active adventure. A knowledgeable guide accompanies you on a panoramic drive through historical Fremantle. Watch for the Fremantle Prison, built in 1855 to house imperial convicts, and the Round House -- the oldest building in Western Australia.
Travel along the Esplanade and Beach Road, passing Victoria Quay and the Pensioner Forces Cottages en route to Perth -- capital of the state of Western Australia.
Founded in 1829 and bisected by the peaceful Swan River, this stunning city features a Mediterranean climate and a population that is only a third of that of the major east-coast cities. Enjoy a brief, narrated panoramic drive through Perth's city center. You will then leave the coach for approximately two hours of free time for independent sightseeing and shopping. Take in the many great architectural landmarks, such as the Perth Mint, housed in an elegant late-19th-century heritage building. If you wish, take time out for lunch at one of the city's charming pubs or restaurants (at your own expense).
Meeting up with your guide at the appointed time, you'll head to the Barrack Street Jetty and board a riverboat for a picturesque cruise down the Swan River and back to Fremantle. Sit back and enjoy as your friendly Captain points out the passing sights. Perth's impressive new bell tower, the restored Swan Brewery, King's Park, the Royal Perth Yacht Club, and the magnificent homes of the rich and famous on Millionaire's Row.
Your cruise ends at Fremantle's bustling inner harbor with a brief coach ride back to the ship.
