Go directly to jail; do not pass go! You're headed to Fremantle Prison -- a fascinating and memorable UNESCO World Heritage Site. This incredible sandstone prison complex dates back to 1855 and was built using convict labor in Australia's early days as a penal colony. Amazingly, this house of horrors remained in use until 1991.
Tour the main cellblock and the prison yard as your guide explains its history and relates tales of its famous inmates.
Reboard your coach and head to the Western Australia Maritime Museum. The Museum houses several unique galleries that explore the state's relationship with the sea, from leisure boats and handcrafted sailing boats to commercial pearl luggers. It is also home to the winning America's Cup yacht--Australia II.
View the Oberon class submarine, the HMAS Ovens, Jon Sanders' Parry Endeavour, and many other iconic vessels.
