The Coastal Discovery Tour is a 1.5-hour combined port and offshore adventure boat experience. Departing from Harbour Square Boat Dock along the Honeysuckle Foreshore the tour visits the major areas around Australia’s third-largest port before heading offshore along the scenic Hunter Coastline, stopping at Newcastle’s key destination landmarks along the way. The tour offers a unique interpretation of the history of the Port, the City, the marine life which inhabit the coastline, local geology, Aboriginal heritage as well as unique destination landmarks such as wrecks, ocean baths, cliffs and ships. The Port of Newcastle is considered to be one of the world’s leading ports, with more than 4600 vessel movements per year. The Port has a rich maritime history as it has been in operation for over 200 years.
Notes:
Guests will need to take the shuttle to the city stop where a representative from the operator will meet them. Tour will conclude at Honeysuckle where guests will make their own way back to the shuttle stop and ship. Cruise duration is 1.5 hours
