Snorkel the Tangalooma Wrecks the easy way with a battery-powered underwater sea scooter that does all the work for you. Grasp the handles, push the button and off you go -- gliding effortlessly through the water.
The Tangalooma Wrecks are one of Australia’s best snorkel locations. Fifteen ships were scuttled by the Queensland Government more than 30 years ago and are now a haven for a wide range of marine life. You’ll see colorful coral and numerous species of tropical fish.
Also keep an eye out for the stingrays, turtles, dolphins and dugongs that sometimes visit the area.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. All snorkel gear -- including fins, snorkel, mask -- is included. Wetsuits are provided and must be worn. Participants must be competent swimmers. Suitable for guests using a wheelchair; a beach wheelchair is available to assist with boarding the boat. Minimum age is 8 years. Guests who are pregnant or have a back or neck condition and guests with epilepsy or seizures must bring a medical certificate stating they are medically cleared to participate in this tour specifically; a physical or digital copy of the doctor’s note must be available at tour check-in and must be current within the last 6 months. Guests with asthma may find this excursion difficult; bring your medication on the vessel if you wish to participate in snorkeling.
