Travel to Flinders Chase National Park, whose must-sees include the beautiful Admiral’s Arch, shaped by the powerful Southern Ocean and a great place for spotting long-nosed fur seals. Then, travel to Remarkable Rocks -- sculpted granite boulders formed 500 million years ago. Flinders Chase is also home to many koalas and your guide will take you to the best locations for you to spot these furry marsupials.
Enjoy a relaxed lunch.
At the Kangaroo Island Raptor Domain, there’s time to get up close to some of the most beautiful and deadly birds in the world. You may meet Jedda, a majestic wedge-tailed eagle, and Casper, the friendly barn owl. Banjo and Clancy -- the laughing kookaburras -- have plenty to say for themselves. Spending an hour with these intriguing avian friends is both interactive and educational.
Travel back toward Penneshaw with a pause at Pennington Bay. Take photos here of the rugged south coast and Kangaroo Island’s famous surf beach. Watch for wild grey kangaroos resting under the she-oaks.
Notes:
Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
