Travel south on the Stuart Highway before heading into the Floodplains Region along the Arnhem Highway.
Your destination is the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, where you will take a short walk through the woodlands and monsoon forests that fringe the floodplains to spot wildlife.
Next, drive along the dam wall before reaching Pandanus Lookout. Here, enjoy a snack and the view across the floodplains while learning about this fascinating region and its ecosystems, wildlife, seasons, and Aboriginal and European history.
Then, take less-traveled roads through Darwin's rural hinterland before returning to the pier.
