Irish, English, French, Danish, Italian and Chinese fortune hunters braved the crocodile-infested waters, monsoonal rains, stingers, and the heat to build here at the end of the road. The Yirrganydji and Yidinji Aboriginal people's history is an intrinsic part of Cairns' story.
