A Heart for Community:
Connect with the heart and soul of a vibrant community. Whether you're meeting friendly locals, encountering heirloom cultures, engaging with Native peoples, exploring hidden corners, or discovering beloved eateries, let lasting memories begin with warmth, hospitality, and genuine connection.
Pass through Tasmania's picturesque countryside and lush green vistas en route to Gunns Plains -- a prosperous farming district located south of Burnie.
Limestone caves are the region's main attraction, discovered by a hunter in 1906. A flight of concrete stairs accesses caverns and short passages, and you will wind your way through the caves on a guided tour. See an underground river and bioluminescent glow-worms, as well as some unusual ribbon stalactites.
Reboard your coach for the drive to the Wing's Wildlife Park, set on 106 acres. Tasmanian devils, quolls, and many other native animals and farm creatures live here, including reptiles and kangaroos.
Visit the animal nursery if you wish, or simply spend your free time exploring the park and visiting its inhabitants.
Notes:
Terrain includes approximately 200 steps in the cave. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Naturalist guides are on hand throughout the park to assist; however, your time at the park is unguided, and you will explore on your own. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Tour does not operate on holidays.
