Take advantage of expert local fishing knowledge on this outing targeting snapper -- a species that is particularly favored by New Zealanders. The discerning angler can jump right in, and there's patient tuition for the novice to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to land their catch. The majority of the fish caught in the Bay of Islands are blue cod, terakihi, trevally and snapper.
All gear, including bait and tackle, is supplied, along with the sublime scenery of the Bay of Islands and any marine wildlife and birdlife that you spot on the day.
Notes:
A catch is not guaranteed. Fish that have been caught cannot be stored on board the cruise ship. Minimum age is 8 years. Wear comfortable flat-soled shoes. Bring a jacket -- it is cooler on the water. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
