This is a wonderful cultural experience that showcases the relationship of the Maori people with the water.
Enjoy a traditional Maori welcome before you climb into a waka -- a Maori canoe that seats several people. You will immediately feel the pride and spirituality of your Maori guide.
Take up your paddle and glide your way up the peaceful, tranquil estuaries of the Waitangi River aboard this traditional vessel.
Watch for the beautiful Haruru Falls (tide permitting) and visit a 1,000-year-old Maori site.
Light refreshments are served upon your return.
Notes:
Minimum age is 6 years. Be prepared to get wet. Participants may be required to take a short walk at the start and conclusion of the tour to return to the tender pier.
