Your half-day excursion begins at the pier where you'll board the glass-bottom Kalgan Queen riverboat. Cruise from the Emu Point landing to the sheltered waters of Oyster Harbour and to the Kalgan River.
The river's estuary is home to an abundance of wildlife, including a large population of birds. It is also known for great fishing. Watch through the boat's glass hull for the giant spotted black-and-white eagle ray -- a cousin of the manta ray -- which grows up to 17 feet in length and weigh more than 500 pounds.
In addition to the underwater views, your cruise offers stories of Albany's history and colorful commentary on subjects ranging from local birdlife to wildflowers and poetry.
Enjoy billy tea and damper bread -- two traditional tastes from Downunder.
