Experience Auckland’s wild and rugged West Coast when you travel to the Waitakere Ranges, approximately 11 miles northwest of Auckland.
You’ll stop in the bush-clad hills, where the sweeping decks offer breathtaking panoramic views from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Absorb the local history and admire the magnificent traditional Maori carvings that stand guard there.
Heading further west, you’ll encounter the power of the wild and rugged West Coast. Feel the soft, black sand beneath your feet as you stroll along awe-inspiring Piha Beach.
With your knowledgeable guide, continue to the lush rainforest, where you will hear native birdsong as you walk the easy 40-minute .75-mile bush track. Your constant companions are picturesque streams and giant tree ferns.
