The McLaren Vale wine-growing region invites you to visit some of its many world-class wineries. The region's moderate, Mediterranean-like climate dishes up legendary Shiraz, with Grenache and Cabernet varietals coming a very close second.
Today, your purpose in life is to discover the local cellar doors (tasting rooms) and enjoy a couple of wine-tasting sessions in scenic locations overlooking the vineyards and rolling hills of the Adelaide countryside. You'll learn why the region is so highly regarded and meet the locals who are passionate about what they do.
Your palate will also thank you for trying the region's tasty culinary offerings -- lunch is served at a local restaurant and is accompanied by a glass of wine.
