The world’s largest gilt bronze statue of Buddha is the first of many exciting sights that await you. The Daibutsu (Great Buddha) resides in the Todaiji Temple -- the largest wooden structure in the world.
Continue to the Kasuga Shrine before stopping for lunch at a local restaurant.
Reboarding the coach, head to the Horyuji Temple, the oldest in Japan. It contains some of the nation’s rarest treasures and is reputedly among the oldest wooden buildings in the world. Its interior walls are covered in clay images depicting the life of Buddha.
