Board your motor-couch to JR Toyama station and your special day in Toyama will begin with the experience of local scenic train, called "The story of 13,000".
Tateyama Mountain Range with mountains 3000m high and 1000m deep Toyama Bay, has a 4000m difference in altitude - Toyama prefecture is unique and distinct in its geographical features. Consisting of rich nutrients and oxygen from the Northern Alps, the underground water flows into the Sea of Japan. About 500 out of the 800 species of fish which inhabit in the Sea of Japan, inhabit in Toyama Bay.
“The story of 13,000” is a dining train, which presents you fresh seafood from Toyama Bay and blessings of the region nurtured by the mineral-rich meltwater of Tateyama, and you will savor the four seasons and geography of Toyama.
After your visit, you will stop at the Toyama Prefectural Ink Art Museum.
This indoor museum is dedicated to the beauty and tradition of Japanese ink painting and is set in a quiet, landscaped environment. The galleries display works by renowned modern and contemporary artists, allowing visitors to appreciate the expressive power of ink through a variety of styles and themes. The museum also features a traditional Japanese garden that can be viewed from inside the building, creating a calm and reflective atmosphere.
Lastly, your special day will conclude with Ikeda Yasubei Medicine Shop.
Ikeda Yasubei Medicine Shop is an old medicine shop in downtown Toyama City that practices in traditional medicine. Established in 1936, the shop sells the types of medicines for which Toyama became famous as a pharmaceutical center during the Edo Period. In a surrounding reminiscent of the past, visitors can receive counseling from the shop clerks and purchase medicines designed to treat an array of ailments.
In the center of the shop stands an old fashioned machine with which clerks demonstrate the traditional method of making pills before allowing visitors a chance to try their hand at it.
