Enjoy a traditional Javanese welcome dance, followed by a scenic one-hour drive to the town of Ambarawa. En route, you'll travel through the Candi residential district and the highlands of the interior.
Upon arrival in Ambarawa, visit the Ambarawa Railway Museum, home to locomotives dating back 150 years. After a brief introduction to these colonial-era locomotives, embark on a thirty-minute antique train trip through beautiful tropical scenery, crossing the legendary swamp of Rawa Pening en route to Tuntang.
In Tuntag, the Tlogo Plantation is certain to take your breath away with stunning views of tropical plants such as coffee, rubber, mango, banana, avocado, clove, cocoa and guava. Learn about the coffee-making process from the bean to powder using traditional machinery and witness the process of rubber manufacturing.
Then you’ll sit back and relax over a delicious cup of fresh-brewed coffee while you enjoy traditional live Javanese gamelan music.
Your tour concludes with a visit to Sam Po Kong, also known as the "Gedong Batu." The temple, built in honor of the famous Chinese Admiral, Zheng, China's most famous maritime explorer, consists of several pavilions and caves and four places of worship. Today, the temple presents a blend of Chinese and Muslim cultures. Stone carvings and sculptures, as well as several shrines and tombs, make Sam Po Kong a must-see on any visit to Semarang. Before departing, you can opt to have your fortune read by the resident fortuneteller in exchange for a small tip.
