Day 1 (L/D) Shanghai - Hangzhou
Leave the ship and board an air-conditioned motorcoach. You’ll drive to the famed 16th-century Yuyuan Garden, which captures the essence of the landscape art and architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. High walls adorned with huge stone dragons shelter teahouses, pavilions, rockeries and carp ponds.
In the Old Town area of Shanghai, wander among a maze of narrow alleys and cobblestone lanes.
A 1.5-hour train journey through the countryside brings you to the lovely city of Hangzhou. Check in at the hotel upon arrival, with the evening at leisure.

Day 2 (B/L) Hangzhou - Shanghai
Enjoy a chartered boat cruise on West Lake, situated at the heart of Hangzhou. This is one of the scenic wonders of China, whose willow-shaded causeways and fragrant cover of lotus blossoms have long been an inspiration for artists.
The Lingyin Temple is one of the largest temples in China, and it features more than 70 halls.
The mysteries of Eastern medicine unravel at the Chinese Medicine Museum. Mixing and use of natural herbal treatments has been documented for 2,500 years, and many herbal remedies are still used today. The museum’s antique architecture houses a treasury of traditional Chinese medical science and technology.
Leaving Hangzhou, you will take the train back to Shanghai and rejoin the ship.
Notes:
Bring sturdy non-skid walking shoes. The tour is guided; an escort from the ship’s staff may or may not also accompany the group.
