Visit the coastal Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, situated in northeastern Busan. This superb find was first built in 1376 during the Goryeo Dynasty. The Buddhist teacher Naong made the unusual decision to establish a temple beside the sea when most were situated in the mountains. The temple features seawater goddess Haesu Gwaneum Daebul, a main sanctuary, the Yongwangdang Shrine, an inner sanctum enclosed in a cave, and a three-story pagoda with four lions looking out over the ocean.
Along the way, you will have the chance to take beautiful photos of the bridge.
Scour the stalls at Busan's Gukje (International) Market in search of good deals on imports, knockoffs and local food items. Each alleyway is crowded with stalls stocking virtually everything known to humanity.
