Complete your visit to Puerto Princesa by cruising the islands aboard a motorized banca.
A leisurely 30-minute drive north of the city brings you to Santa Lourdes Wharf, where you will embark on an island-hopping boat cruise around Honda Bay. Choose from several charming white-sand beaches on the bay where you can swim, snorkel (bring your own gear) or just take in some sun.
Among the more popular islands is Cowrie Island, named after the small-to-large sea snail -- a marine gastropod mollusk.
Depending on the tide, you may visit Luli Island. This is the only island in Honda Bay that is fully inundated at high tide. Its structures appear to float at high tide but are firmly rooted in the ground at low tide.
Notes:
Transportation is by air-conditioned commuter bus with a portable PA system. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, a cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. If it is high tide in Luli Island, we will extend the visit at Cowrie Island. The islands and facilities are very rustic.
