Tea is Shizuoka Prefecture's most famous product, and its Tea Museum Shizuoka, focused on tea as a healthy lifestyle choice, is located in the largest tea-farming area in Japan. The museum features exhibits introducing the tea industry, its history and culture, a tea ceremony house, and a beautiful garden.
Just a short drive away is the Horai Bridge, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest wooden pedestrian bridge. The half-mile bridge was completed during the Meiji era in 1879.
Step inside the Ogane-ke -- the residence of the Ogane family -- for a visit. The Ogane-ke was built about 300 years ago. The main building and its Nagayamon Gate are designated National Important Cultural Properties. Enjoy the seasonal flowers in the garden and the views of Mt Fuji and Suruga Bay in the distance.
Return to the pier via a panoramic drive.
