Take it easy and acquaint yourself with the highlights of Nagasaki.
You'll visit Nagasaki Peace Park and its famous statue commemorating the atomic bomb blast that leveled the city in 1945. Today, the park is dedicated to World Peace. You'll walk from here to the bomb blast epicenter, a few minutes away, to visit the Atomic Bomb Museum. This interesting facility houses numerous photographs and relics of that fateful day.
Ride the Nagasaki Slope Car to the Mt Inasa observation platform. The summit features a glass-enclosed circular, domed lookout from which you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the spectacular scenery below. On a clear day, you may even catch a glimpse of Mt Unzen, the Amakusa area, and the Gotoh archipelago (weather permitting).
Notes:
The ride is on the Slope Car and not a Gondola. Due to limited capacity of the Nagasaki Slope car, the group may need to divide in two and travel in separate cars. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
