Experience some of the best attractions that Miyako has to offer on this island discovery.
From the pier, journey to the famed Irabu Ohashi Bridge for a photo stop. Spanning over two miles, it stretches between Irabu and Miyako.
Another photo stop awaits at the Makiyama Observatory. Resembling a bird in flight, it boasts panoramic views of Miyako and the neighboring island of Irabu.
Keep your camera at the ready for the next photo stop, Maehama Beach, a stunning stretch of soft white sand, where you will have some free time to stroll along the water’s edge.
Next, visit mythical Cape Higashi-Hennazaki, designated a Place of Scenic Beauty. Situated at the tip of Miyako Island, this narrow peninsula features a stately lighthouse and endless ocean views.
Stop for lunch before exploring Shimajiri Mangrove Park, the largest and most significant mangrove forest on the island. From the walkway, you may see birds, crabs, mudskippers and more.
Finally, learn the intricate process of salt production at Yukishio Factory before returning to the pier via the photogenic Ikema Bridge.
