Here's an on-the-water and in-the-water adventure just a short boat ride from Male. Head along the scenic and picturesque coast of Male to a nearby reef. The crew drops the anchor here so you can discover the natural treasures of the Maldives' marine world.
Beneath the water's surface lies a world of natural wonders that you will discover during a approximately one and a half hour (45 minutes each at two different spots) unguided snorkel experience. The wealth of marine species is due to the endless flow of nutrient-rich water and the monsoon tides that bring a collection of small marine creatures that provide abundant food. Expect to see a seemingly endless variety of fish. Graceful and shy eagle rays also inhabit these crystal-clear waters, as do manta rays -- the world's largest species of ray.
Please note:
Snorkeling is directly from the boat. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Participants must be able to swim in a light current and be in good physical condition. Although sometimes perceived as a passive and relaxing sport, snorkeling comes with inherent physical challenges and is therefore advisable only for those in good health. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Snorkel gear is provided. Marine sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
