Kuala Lumpur, the Garden City, boasts numerous evergreen gardens and parks. Its colorful, beautifully landscaped parks and gardens enchant nature lovers. Many city streets are neatly lined with ornamental plants, shrubs and shade trees.
Visit the Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens — a peaceful and leafy sanctuary dedicated to orchids, one of the most diverse and striking tropical flowers. Set on a gentle hilltop, the garden features winding pathways that lead visitors through vibrant displays of orchids in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors.
Next, head to Independence Square, surrounded by the most famous landmarks of KL — the Royal Selangor Club, St Mary's Anglican Church, and the former British Secretariat, now known as the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. The latter is currently the seat of the Supreme and High Courts.
After a buffet lunch, drive to the city center to snap photos of the 88-story Petronas Twin Towers dominating the skyline — soaring to a dizzying height of 1,483 feet.
At street level, take a moment to enjoy KLCC Park — a lush, 50-acre urban sanctuary designed to provide greenery to the Petronas building.
Don't miss the Central Market, which used to be the town's wholesale and retail wet market for fresh produce. Renovated and reopened in 1986, it was the first example of a heritage building adapted for a different use. Today, it is a leading craft market in the city.
