A fascinating visit to the Kushiro Marshland, Japan’s largest wetlands, begins with a comfortable motorcoach journey. Check out the Visitor Center and the Observatory with views over the Kushiro Marshland area.
The Visitor Center offers a compelling glimpse into life in the marsh, which was designated a National Park in 1987. Thousands of species of plants, fish, insects and animals make the marsh their home, including Japan’s only population of endangered red-crowned cranes. The observatory offers a spectacular panoramic view of the wetlands unfolding before you, with Mt Meakan appearing serenely in the distance on clear days.
On the way back to the ship, you will see the nature of the northern island of Hokkaido.
